Terms and conditions of use
JetFriends is the name of a product within the Miles & More frequent flier programme produced and operated by Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Lufthansa).
Lufthansa provides a great deal of information on its web site at www.jetfriends.com. Lufthansa selects and prepares this information with the utmost care and reserves the right to change it at any time. Lufthansa provides no warranty and assumes no liability for the accuracy, completeness and currency of this information.
The user and his/her parents or guardians are solely responsible for the use of the JetFriends web site. To the extent allowed by law, Lufthansa shall not be liable for any damage arising from the use of the JetFriends web site. The JetFriends web site contains links to other web sites that are operated by third parties and not by Lufthansa. Lufthansa expressly refrains from adopting the content of these web sites as its own and disclaims any responsibility for their content. This also applies to non-Lufthansa content that is posted on the JetFriends web site by third parties.

Terms and conditions of use:
JetFriends offers many interesting services that you can use for free, including the JetFriends e-mail system and various forums. We also provide you with a wide range of up-to-date information. This means, of course, that we need to set some rules that apply to everyone. The use of the services is therefore subject to the following terms and conditions. Please show these terms and conditions of use to your parents so they can learn more about JetFriends.
1. The use of JetFriends services without accepting these general terms and conditions of use is not permitted, nor is it permitted to use the services through access channels other than the ones provided here.

Registration and password:
2. You must register in order to gain full access to the JetFriends web site. For this purpose, you must select a nickname; to protect your identity, it may not be the same as your real name. For your JetFriends e-mail address, you can select anything you want. Due to the limited number of e-mail addresses, however, there is no guarantee that you will get the address you prefer. If several JetFriends users register the same name, preference will be given to the person who requested this name first. Once this information has been verified successfully, you will be registered, and the service will be provided to you. Details of the specific services and their functions can be found under the individual services. When registering, you may not select names that violate applicable law, in particular, that violate the rights of third parties, are illegal, racist, pornographic or contain details that are unsuitable for minors. In addition, JetFriends reserves the right to reject addresses that violate common decency or to subsequently withdraw or delete such nicknames.
3. The information you provide when registering with JetFriends must be true and accurate.
4. You have selected a password so that you alone can read your e-mail messages. Do not disclose your password to third parties, and do not let your password be filled in automatically if other people have access to your computer.

Rules of conduct:
5. When using the services provided by JetFriends, you may not create or transmit any e-mail, SMS, scout, bulletin board, chat room or other messages that are illegal and/or generally offensive. This includes the following: - Messages containing information that violates the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. - Messages that violate the rights or third parties, such as industrial property rights (copyrights, trademarks, etc.) or the general right of personality (including the right to control over personal information). - Messages that are pornographic and, in particular, messages that violate the provisions of the Children and Young Persons Act. - Messages that are racist, libellous, insulting, discriminatory and/or glorify violence. The same applies to other materials, such as text and photos, that you post to JetFriends either directly or through our editors. If these materials are your own work according to the German Copyright Act, you agree, by uploading them or through similar actions, to have them published and utilised by third parties.
6. The transmission of e-mails, SMS and other messages with false or manipulated sender or address data is not permitted. This also applies to the transmission and forwarding of messages whose content has been manipulated.
7. The transmission of e-mails and other messages of a purely commercial nature, spam chain letters, snowball system e-mails and other e-mails that are not aimed at private discussion is not permitted. In addition, the use of JetFriends for any other commercial purpose is not permitted.
8. The services provided by JetFriends grant access to copyrighted material, such as music, editorial articles, games and other protected materials. You may download this content to a private computer and print it out. However, you may not use it for commercial purposes. You are not entitled to any further forms of utilisation such as making additional copies or distributing the materials.
9. The JetFriends web site is subject to Lufthansa's virtual domiciliary right: We reserve the right to remove content from the boards at any time and without the user's prior consent if such content violates prevailing laws or if third parties submit a claim to Lufthansa maintaining the illegality of this content. This also applies to content that is offensive or hostile, violates the accepted moral standards of general public communication or impedes regulated communication between users. This may also include circumstances where a forum/chat room becomes full and therefore difficult to navigate. We also have the right to bar users from utilising the entire service or individual functionalities thereof immediately after the first time illegal or offensive content is distributed.

Netiquette:
At JetFriends, you can exchange messages and e-mail with other people. As a member, you can also post messages in forums. There are a few simple rules that you need to follow so that everyone can surf safely.
1. Do not disclose your password to anyone, not even your best friend.
2. Never give out personal information to others, including your real name, address, telephone number or the school you attend. At JetFriends, you can choose and use your own nickname.
3. Keep in mind that the people you come into contact with on the Internet are not personal acquaintances. Somebody you talk to on the Internet may not be telling you the truth about him or herself. Think about whether you really want to tell that person everything he or she wants to know about you.
4. Never go alone to meet someone you know by e-mail or from a forum. If you want to meet someone, take your parents along.
5. Keep in mind that whenever you make your e-mail address accessible to the public, you may receive unwanted e-mail such as advertisements.
6. Never respond to e-mails that are threatening or seem indecent. If you read something that looks strange to you, show it to your parents or fill in the contact form.
7. If you notice something in the forum that you find disturbing, use the "Alarm" button. Then write down what you noticed.
8. Be nice to people you talk to on the Internet. Insults and abusive language have no place at JetFriends. Posts that violate our rules will be deleted.
9. Members that violate our rules may be barred from the JetFriends Meeting Point.
