Working with giants
Modern aeroplanes must work perfectly and meet many safety standards. Therefore, they require careful maintenance and repair. At Lufthansa, these tasks are performed by aircraft mechanics.
In addition to aeroplanes, aircraft mechanics are generally qualified to also work on other aircraft such as helicopters.
There are three types of aircraft mechanics. Lufthansa offers a separate training programme for each specialisation.
Production Engineering, Maintenance or Engines?
Aircraft mechanics ensure that aircraft and aircraft components work perfectly and are safe. This profession has three different specialisations: production engineering, maintenance and engines. These three areas overlap and work together very closely.
