Landing

I ask Tegel once again about the wind, including direction and force, the cloud ceiling and coverage, visibility, etc.

After another 30 minutes of flying time, we are around 200 km from Berlin. We receive instructions to start our descent.

Our elevation is now 4,000 feet. I announce that we are turning off the autopilot and beginning to fly manually.

With the help of data from the ILS, I guide the aircraft to the right localiser course. Using the instruments, I check the plane's position and adjust our glide slightly.

The purser announces, "Cabin ready". All passengers and the flight attendants have their seatbelts fastened, and all objects are stowed.

At 2,000 feet, we lower the landing year and extend the flaps. Two more minutes.

From the tower, we are told, "LH 256, cleared to land runway 26 R, wind 270/15."

We touch down on the ground. Now we can start braking.
