Around the world with Lu and Cosmo

France – Paris

Lu and Cosmo are flying to Paris today. While they are still on the plane Lu tells his friend that Paris is the capital of France. "There's an incredible amount of attractions in Paris", says Lu. "I definitely want to go up the Eiffel Tower!", Cosmo exclaims.

From the hotel, the two take the Metro to the Eiffel Tower. "The Metro is the most popular way of getting around in Paris. It travels underground and the Yellow Line 1 doesn't even have a driver," Lu explains. Cosmo is impressed. All of a sudden music starts playing in the train. Cosmo turns round to find out where it's coming from and cries: "Look over there, Lu! They are playing music while we're moving!" Lu and Cosmo listen to the musicians. But they have to get off at the next stop.

Once at the Eiffel Tower they take the lift to the top. "What a view! I can see the whole of Paris!," raves Cosmo. And Lu tells him: "The Eiffel Tower is 324 metres tall and was once the tallest building in the world. It is named after its architect Gustave Eiffel. It is still the tallest building in Paris." Lu and Cosmo enjoy the views over Paris in all directions as the wind whistles around their ears. They decide not to take the lift back down and go down the stairs instead. Then they can enjoy the view for a little while longer.

Back on the ground, Lu suggests: "Come on, Cosmo, we'll take a boat on the Seine back to the hotel. It goes past the Louvre Museum where the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci is, and also Notre-Dame Cathedral!"

In the evening Lu and Cosmo decide to return to Paris very soon. "Lu, that was a great day. And Paris is really cool. Bonne nuit," Cosmo whispers with the last of his energy before drifting off into the land of dreams. Lu smiles and says: "Bonne nuit. Good night, Cosmo."
