Boeing 747-8

Stretched jumbo

The first version of the Boeing 747 was already referred to as “jumbo” because of its awe-inspiring size. The new 747-8 is 5.60 metres longer than its immediate predecessor, the 747-400. That makes it the world’s longest passenger plane.

There are 362 seats on the stretched jumbo. The cabins are very modern in all classes. The new plane is considerably more fuel efficient than the previous model. That is mainly thanks to the new engines by General Electric as well as to the new wings.
