What do I have to be aware of?

City breaks are particularly well suited to older children and teenagers. Don’t worry, you’re not completely on your own! A lot of operators offer group trips. The advantage is clear: experienced tour guides, who know what young people are interested in, are there to answer all your questions and organise various excursions to the top sightseeing attractions. They know the city and can certainly give you a few insider tips! And if something should happen you can ask them for help at any time of the day or night.

You have to be aware that your parents decide if you are allowed to travel alone if you are still under 18. If you are, then they have to sign the travel contracts for you.

It is also very important that you check what is already included in the price of your trip and which extra costs you have to cover. Make sure you have enough pocket money for your trip too!

Before you leave, don’t forget that every country has different entry conditions. You need to have your passport, vaccinations and visa in good time before you travel.

When is the right time to go on a city break?
