It is advisable to travel to India after the monsoon season which can last from June/July until October. The whole country blooms in majestic colours and the women’s radiant robes, saris, seem to almost compete with each other.
Cows are sacred in India and are not allowed to be slaughtered. For Hindus cows are the mother of all life and are considered life-givers. Their milk, dung, urine and other milk products are considered holy gifts to mankind. They are even protected by the constitution. Anyone who hurts a sacred cow in India can reckon with a jail sentence.
