If you want to be sure of better weather the best time to travel there is in spring and autumn. In May the cherry blossom envelopes the country in a sea of blossom for two weeks.

Trivia
Fugu, the poisonous pufferfish, is considered a delicacy in Japan. It has one of the strongest venoms found in nature, which is why only very experienced chefs prepare it. Only people with a special licence are allowed to buy and prepare it. The Japanese love the pufferfish because it is said to have aphrodisiac properties and because its tender meat tingles in the mouth. By the way: only the female fugu is poisonous.
